Dev Knights are community members who are doing a little extra to help Dev Night grow. If you see them at Dev Night make sure to say hi!
Will is one of the O.G. Dev Knights and co-founder of Cipher Prime. He is a man of many talents and many hats and is always ready to show anyone what Philly is all about. If it happens at Dev Night chances are Will helped make it so.
Shawn is the other Dev Night originator. Whether or not Shawn is in fact a real person or a shared hallucination is up for debate. He has worked on some awesome games and is always down for some J.S. Joust. He‘s a blast at parties. Shawn runs the Game Book Club and Tournaments. Don’t ask him about the cards.
Dain is the kind of guy whose left and right sides of the brain work in equal measure. He is the other half of Cipher Prime and has been around Dev Night since its inception. He also has a hyperbolic time chamber where he trains his body and mind for what seems like months but is only a few of our Earth minutes. He keeps the knight’s feet on the ground and eyes forward.
Jake is Flyclops’ continuous science experiment. Jake sleeps for 20 seconds every 4 minutes to get the most work done possible. A truly dedicated and proactive guy, Jake runs the ever popular Game Jams at Dev Night. He is always working hard to make them a huge attraction.
Camden is a legend passed on the winds. A champion of Dev Night jams, Camden is an impressive programmer, designer and artist. He can also do literally anything with a WordPress. He is constantly making this site better if only to show off his excellent jams.
Aaron don‘t care. He is on his hustle. Aaron is Space Whale games and has been working hard on making it. Aaron has been working on making talks at Dev Night a little more broad by inviting devs from outside the community. Usually by getting them stuck in his beard’s gravity well.
No one is really sure what Steve does.
Savannah is the coolest nerd on the block for sure. A massive talent in Philly‘s burlesque and dance scenes, she’ll always make time to wreck you in both table top and video games. She keeps the rest of the knights in line, basically she’s the muscle.
Nicole is a powerhouse. One half of Cardboard Fortress whose Resistor (a successful Dev Night jam game) is quickly on its way, Nicole also runs GameLoop Philly and has her Kitten Mittens in zillions of other things. She helps balance out the table top and video game ratio at Dev Night and is always giving out hugs.
Kotaro is a smiling mystery. A Philly AI grad, Kotaro is a healthy mix of artist and dev. He is always looking for ways to try new things, food and dev-wise. Except Towerfall, he really doesn’t care for it. He is always happy to show new faces around.
Jake Vander Ende
Jake V has a LASER you guys! So cool. He cuts all kinds of stuff like table top games and trophies! He is also one of the best Towerfall players at Dev Night. He helps out with jams and if you’re lucky you just might win some of his handy work. PEW PEW.
Nick was woken from cryo-sleep and was tasked with protecting an advanced AI from the alien forces. After crashing on a strange ring-world he fought his way through alien and zombie hordes. He drove a jeep through an exploding spaceship, it was so cool the ring-world exploded. He and the AI returned to Earth where he founded PHL Collective. Sometimes he records podcasts too.
Zenas comes from a tribe of ancient warriors. Rejecting his place at the village apothecary Zenas has turned to making games as his original dream of bespoke artichoke sculpture fell through due to the economic collapse. A logical thinker and highly practical Zenas is in charge of the mysterious fifth week of dev night. Once and a while the schedule gives us an extra week for events and Zenas conjures up something for us all to do.
Tabby was born in the desert to a clan of rad motorcycle grannies. Growing up she dreamed of being an artist, but sand was a limiting medium. She went her own way and eventually found a ancient medicine man named Wobbly who taught her to play Settlers of Catan. With this new found inspiration she round her motorcycle for many moons. Eventually she awoke on the doorstep of Dev Night. Now she makes rad games and writes a mean blog.
